Abstract

This essay critically examines the role of postgraduate university education in the development of inclusive leadership among school principals. In an educational context characterized by diversity and an increasing demand for equity, it becomes necessary to rethink leadership training models. Through a review of specialized literature, this study analyzes theoretical approaches to inclusive leadership, training practices in postgraduate programs, and the competencies required for school leadership oriented toward inclusion. The findings reveal progress in the incorporation of inclusive content; however, limitations persist in its implementation, particularly in the articulation between theory and practice and in the development of socio-emotional competencies. Additionally, the relevance of active methodologies and situated learning is highlighted as effective strategies in the preparation of educational leaders. The discussion emphasizes the need to transform postgraduate programs toward comprehensive, critical, and context-based models, especially in the Latin American context. It is concluded that university education plays a strategic role in building more equitable educational systems, provided that inclusion is addressed as a structural rather than merely discursive element.
